Dear Milwaukee Letter 3: Riverwest 24

Hello Stranger!

There is nothing out there quite like the Riverwest 24 race. If you can, join it next year July 29 & 30, 2022!

Like most things these days, the race looked a little different this year. It was unofficial and based on bonus stops which were activities curated by the community. Stops included pop punk karaoke, tattoos, a candlelit hike, disco dancing, yoga, pancakes, chalk art, hot wings, Mario Kart, tetherball, ice cream, and much much more.

I hosted a bonus with Jill, creator of the Word Houses you’ll find around Riverwest, where people created Love Letters.

I’ll admit that the level of cheese with my wholesome hobby makes me bashful at times. The response to the stop made me blush but in a whole different way. People’s eyes lit up when I explained that the letters they created will be sprinkled around Milwaukee for people to find at random.

I am posting pictures on Instagram of all of the cards that the racers created. Peruse the posts and you’ll see why I have a smile on my face as I type this.

People are good. People are kind. People are sending positive vibes your way and you don’t even know it.
